A Little Italy

If you take two seconds to consider the history of Vegas, it won't surprise you to know that the San Gennaro Feast--celebrated for 86 years in Little Italy, New York, to commemorate San Gennaro, the Patron Saint of Naples--has also migrated here. Originally a religious festival, in Sin City it's all about food and fun.

Yesterday, Hollywood spent his day pretending he was Italiano, for a Vegas Kids TV episode. His accent is just terrible enough (sometimes he sounded more Indian than Italian) to be hilarious.

Anyway, here are some picks of the Vegas Kids TV kids goofing around in between scenes, including a shot with the up-and coming C-Boys Stars and WillB. Lots of fun!

These are a bunch of really talented kids and when they're big and famous--like tomorrow--you can say you saw them here first.

A Smidge About Me:

I'm not so special. Just another mom racing to catch up, then squeezing minutes from my crazy hectic days to share with you. Why? Therapy, I guess. Self-discovery. I'm hoping that in sharing about them, I find little pieces of me, the little pieces that I've lost through the years, or earlier today, or even new bits that I've grown without noticing. Like certain lines on my face.

I'm a mom, halfway there--my children are 16, 14 and 10. There are fewer of us longer-in-service moms blogging than new mommies, it seems. It might have to do with less time in the day. Or less energy. Or a grown child's right to privacy. Or a thousand other things. But, nevertheless, here I am. Blogging. Somewhat anonymously, at The Coop's request--please understand.

Our Progeny:

Sunshine is revelling in the freedom and glories of high school. She just turned 16, but you'd never know it for her even disposition--I'd wonder if she was really mine, if I hadn't the video footage to prove it. She was a ballerina for a long time, now she's on the debate team. She argues well. (That's a boast I never imagined making as a parent....).

Hollywood is a natural born artist and too sensitive to properly fit in middle school. But his skin thickens a little each day. He's smack dab in the middle of puberty and just past sounding like a squeaky toy. He dreams of stardom, less obsessively, than he used to--but he still wants to be an actor. He takes lessons and every now and then we whip out to LA for auditions.

The Storm (as in "Take the world by...") is our baby, and she's savvy enough play it up for all it's worth. Balthazar likes to say, "If she was our first, she'd have been our last." There might be some truth to this; she certainly keeps us sharp. The Storm is a soccer stud. And only the best hugger ever!
